Since my last update here, I've edited a few existing uploads: I added corrections to the "S/he's Being Mean" verb table requested by JW, and I made some edits to the Body Parts vocabulary handouts--not to correct any noted errors, but to reorganize the material. I reworked it so Body Parts I is focused entirely on the face, Body Parts II is focused entirely on the Limbs and Torso, and Body Parts III is focused on expanding on the face, limbs, and torso. I did this because I don't want any one handout to be too crowded with information. I'd like to keep the new vocabulary presented by each one down to an easily digestible number of new words.
I've uploaded corrected/updated versions of all these documents as of this post. I also finished the first "Clothing" vocabulary handout, which has been reviewed with JW and uploaded as of today.
I'm going to be organizing my Verb Table work based on my Beginner Verb List--my first goal being to complete and upload completed Tables for every verb in the "High Use" category. I'm currently working on finalizing "S/he is Doing (It)," advneha, No. 57; and "S/he is Going," ega, No. 400. I'm also nearly finished with "S/he is Putting on a Shirt," ahnuwo'a, No. 100; and "S/he is Looking (at It)," agtosdiha, No. 157. Those two are not in the "High Use" section of the BVL but I got started on them before I decided to organize my work in that way. Hopefully I can get these polished up and uploaded soon.
I've got to admit that my focus has been pulled away from Cherokee language work a bit lately. I've become completely fixated on Sumo wrestling, and it's been taking up most of the energy I save for "productive down-time." I'm competing in the Consulate's Cup in November. It'll be my first competition, the roster is stacked, and it's coming up fast, so I've been extremely preoccupied with it. Hopefully after Consulate's, I'll figure out how to strike a better balance between language study and Sumo and start making more consistent progress here.
